GROOMING SHUT DOWN!
Grooming operations have stopped. Continued warm and sunny weather has base snow disappearing fast with dirty snow, bare sections, standing and flowing water and very icy conditions. Some sections are very wet and slushy with some areas having deep water holes. Snowmobile access to trails from any of the towns is gone. Anybody that is still attempting to ride are trailering to areas of snow and primarily riding unplowed seasonal roads. There are a few weeks left of the season so if choosing to do so ride safe!

VERY ICY CONDITIONS WITH FLOWING WATER!
- Sunny days are creating very icy conditions with areas of deep standing and flowing water and some trail washouts. Ride with caution.
IMPORTANT National Forest Closure Notice!
- STAY ON GROOMED TRAILS in the Stevens Lake F-16 crash site area. These are Trails 7 to the North and East, Trail 2 to the South and Trail 411 to the West. Order in effect through September 30, 2021. Notice from the National Forest important for those who venture off-trail: "Just a heads up to remind riders to stay on trails especially around or near the crash site they can be fined or imprisoned if caught inside perimeter thanks" (Order and Map in images below shows area)

8 West - Chatham

No new snow, fairly flat with icy stretches, standing water, minimal base and some bare patches. Groomed 3/8/2021 from Trail 7 North heading East, Grooming Operations on Hold
7 South - CR440

No new snow, minimal to no base, bare stretches with standing water and dirty snow. Groomed 3/6/2021 to Buckhorn Road, Grooming Operations on Hold
7 North - Christmas

No new snow, flat with a minimal icy base and some standing water, Poor for two miles closer to Christmas with bare trail, icy corners and no base. Groomed 3/8/2021. Grooming Operations on Hold
419 East - Wetmore
Poor
No new snow, fairly flat and choppy in areas with a minimal icy base and bare ground around Wetmore and Munising. Very icy corners and near top of large hills. Dirty snow along M-28 with a bare sections and standing water. From Wetmore to Trail 8 is fairly flat and icy with standing water. Groomed 3/7/2021, Grooming Operations on Hold

No new snow, fairly flat and icy, thin to no base with standing water, washouts with flowing water and bare stretches, especially closer to Munising. Very icy corners and near top of large hills. Groomed 3/7/2021, Grooming Operations on Hold
418 - Au Train

No new snow, choppy and icy, thin to no base with standing water, washouts with heavy flowing water East of AuTrain and bare stretches, especially along Lake Superior near AuTrain. Flowing water near the West end approaching Brownstone intersection. Groomed 3/6/2021, Grooming Operations on Hold

No new snow, fairly flat and icy, thin to no base with standing water and bare patches, 2 mile stretch along H-58 has no snow cover along guard rail sections. Groomed 3/6/2021, Grooming Operations on Hold
WATCH FOR CARS/TRUCKS Though we have more snow vehicles still try traveling out the the Miners Castle overlook. Stay alert for stuck vehicles or possible trail damage once you enter the groomed section of Miner Castle Road.
