Early Season Conditions.
Please be safe out there.
We have 2 areas of that have water issues…..
Trail 8 between Shingleton (Bears Den) and the Beartrap junction to the north.
This area was panned but please be aware there are water holes.
Trail 419 between Munising and Christmas. Frog Hollow water hole is big and not frozen. We are exploring options.
We are not going to run the groomer through this one and will hit the parts of the trail that we can from both sides of the hole.

Water Holes

- Trail 8 North of Shingleton - Wet Areas Trail 419 between Munising and Christmas - Wet areas

Trail Conditions

8 East - Shingleton

Very Good

This has been groomed and turned out great!

8 West - Chatham

Fair to Good

Will be groomed this evening.

7 South - CR440

Good

Grooming today during the day - please watch for groomer.

7 North - Christmas

Good

Groomer will be moved to Christmas this afternoon.

419 East - Wetmore

Very Good

Groomed and turned out great!

419 West - Munising

Fair

We need to get this area cut in with the Bison with no drag.

419 Water Hole (Frog Hollow) Wetmore Along the South side of M28 there is a hole we need to fill.

418 - Au Train

Good

Less snow the further you go West. We now cover to the Carp River close to Marquette. We plan to get this panned in over the next couple of days. The groomer we inherited along with this trail has issues that are being worked on.

417 - Brownstone Jnct.

Good

417 South of Brownstone going towards trail 8 Chatam spur has a lot of large rocks. We plan to get in there this evening. This trail segment is more important this year with the bridge being out in AuTrain. We have a spotter heading out there now to inspect conditions.

Rocks

422 - Miners Castle

Very Rough

Trail Closed - no grooming

Wetmore Spur

Good

Being Groomed this afternoon. This trail is always sketchy to cut in because of the side hill - ditch in the curve section of M28. There is a nasty drop off to a ditch. Groomers like to slide sideways.....

8 North - Shingleton

Fair to Good

Groomed - waiting for it to freeze up before going back in there. Our hope is that it hardens up before this weekend.

Shingleton Swamp - panned in and in decent shape. Just be aware it is a swamp. Don't dilly dally in there. Further North towards the Bear Trap there are several water hole - mud areas.
