BITTER COLD RIDING CONDITIONS!
Still no new snow with an increase in rider traffic and the trail system in an overall very good condition, good in towns and near roadways. Temperature were in the negative double digits last night. Groomer Operators were once again getting very good results last night. Overall no real changes so get out and enjoy the great riding conditions. Ride safe, stay right and enjoy! On an important side note, SLOW DOWN! The bad side of smooth trails is fast riding. Within 6 hours yesterday we received two phone calls from our field contact concerning the death of two riders. These were two separate incidents in different areas, both were riding too fast and missed corners. So you can ride for many days to come, slow down, ride for conditions and stay right.
Past 24 hour Grooming Operations: Trail 8 from West Trail 417 intersection East to 7 miles North of Shingleton, Trail 417, Trail 418, Trail 419, Trail 7 from Doe lake Road North to Christmas, Trail 422 to Miners Castle, Wetmore Spur.

No new snow, good base, marginal snow cover in 2 mile Frog Hollow section off of Brook Street last Groomed: 1/14/2022

Fair to Good
No new snow, Good with fair base to the East. West 5 miles are thinner with mixed gravel/rocky sections, especially along Lake Superior near AuTrain. Last Groomed: 1/14/2022

No new snow, good base, marginal snow cover on 2 mile section of H58. Watch for ruts on Miner Castle Road as some vehicles are attempting to drive it. Last Groomed: 1/13/2022
Watch for tire ruts on Miners Castle Road as sometimes vehicles attempt to drive up there.
Wetmore Spur
Good
No new snow, good base. Watch for a few moguls that develop along M28 near narrow sweeping curve. Last Groomed: 1/14/2022
