A FEW CHANGES, GOOD & BAD
We took the sled out for a great day of riding and trail inspection yesterday. Trails are staying rather flat with slight chop building from sled traffic. Trail 8 from Shingleton North for 7 miles is rough for about 60% of the run with little snow. We will be sending just a tractor in to clean that up the best we can for now. On the good side, cold weather has all of the water hole situations gone. On the bad- no new snow.
Operators Chris and Keith took the Pisten Bully tractor out Tuesday cleaning up Trail 419 between Wetmore and Munising. A few downed trees were removed and a temporary culvert placed in the stream crossing area.
Grooming was completed last night on Trail 8 from Shingleton West to Trail 7 North to 2 miles south of Christmas and Trail 7 South to Buckhorn Road. They groomed out good and set well considering the soft daytime snow conditions. Grooming operations will continue to be limited.
Overall the core of our trails are in a Fair to Good Condition. We have gravel conditions to the Northwest and Northeast. Trail 418 from Au Train West, Trail 419 from Wetmore to Christmas and Trail 8 North of Shingleton are these problem areas.
Today’s Forecast: Sunny, 24 degrees and 10 S wind.
PLEASE ride with caution, stay right and be respectful, stay on the trail and off the throttle when in the towns.
WE NEED SNOW!!!!!!!!! Keep Snow Dancing with your friends and stay tuned for updates!
